Introducing Yvonne Chiam

Yvonne

Senedi is an equal opportunity employer, providing the space and environment for people to hone their skills, develop their careers and make great friends. This year, some of our staff have moved on to entrepreneurial endeavors. As we bid them good luck and farewell, we have new great people on board for the wave of opportunities that we are seeing this year. 2012 is a year of expansion and new opportunities for us - new office, new products and newcomers who bring along their passion for tech and positive energy! We will be introducing our team members here.

Yvonne Chiam is a programmer who "doesn't look like a programmer" (so says her friends). Nonetheless, she is a dedicated and accomplished software professional with a sunny disposition. Here's an intro to Yvonne:

I'm Yvonne, just a little simple intro of myself. I enjoy working and have about 4 years experience in web development on Microsoft .Net. Always love to take challenges on (software) development. Most of my friends said i doesn't look like a 'Programmer', *speechless*.... hahaha... My hobby is swimming, dancing, travel, watch Korean drama and meet new friends... :)

Favourite Playground Game now on your iPhone

Virrtual Dodos came to us with an idea: can we turn a traditional playground game like Galah Panjang into an iPhone game? In fact, what would it take and how would we get there? Having worked with other developers before, the founders were cautious about what was really possible.

Together with Alex Ong, we reviewed several different types of game models, churned through several rounds of requirements and gamification ideas, and finally arrived at a confirmed set of features to build. And now finally, the delighted and proud founders of Virrtual Dodos have their iPhone game completed and ready for market!

Vincent Lim, Senedi's Senior Software Engineer

As our project managers' frequent appeals for "more resources!" got louder and as we stepped up on our recruitment efforts, those efforts now bear fruit.

The task turned out to be quite an uphill struggle as we launched our "We Are Hiring" calls far and wide through cyberspace and teh tarik sessions. It was tough to find people with the right amount of experience, a can-do attitude and a willingness to come on board the Senedi ship.

Despite those obstacles, we've recently brought on Vivian Tian and now, Vincent Lim! So who's this dude?

Here's his own explanation:

Hi... I am Vincent or you can call me Vince... 12 years work experience in web development using MS platform. A simple person here but not as you think that I'm "typical programmer".. LOL.. Always enjoy life. ;D

My interest - Gym, Movie, travel, makan-makan, minum-minum, hang out with friends, Party-ing(feel free to contact me) ;P

Note: We are still hiring. So if you are interested to know about what it's like to work for Senedi, send me a note at chingyee.fu [at] senedi [dot] com.

Vivian Tian joins Senedi Project Management Team

We recently found another gem to join us! Vivian Tian is no stranger to the Malaysian entrepreneurial community as she used to help Warisan Global manage GEW Malaysia activities. After Warisan Global, Vivian joined a local events organizing company and has recently decided to join Senedi! Needless to say, we're thrilled to have her on the team.

Here's a little bit about her:

"I am from China and all my friends say now I am more like Malaysian. I "blame" that on all the yummy Malaysian food ;-). I like travelling, watching movies (especially musical) and cooking. I am curious about how things work and how new technology can help us in our daily life. So Senedi gives me a lot of opportunities to learn new things. I love it and look forward to this new journey!"

ASEAN Economic Community by 2015

ASEAN countries have signed on to achieve the goal of an ASEAN Economic Community by 2015, which is just 3 years away. However, most businesses in this region of 600 million people and a combined GDP of USD1.8 trillion do not factor AEC2015 into their plans. That is the underlying challenge in CARI's mission to provide "Pragmatic Advocacy". Their website contains a wealth of information which is very useful for anyone or any business interested to leverage on AEC2015.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2012!

In case you've missed our recruitment blasts, we have been talking to as many people as possible, rounding up talents and expanding the team. In 2012, we are going to see very exciting changes (to be announced soon!) and more awesome projects. Check out our job posting via Senedi Careers at LinkedIn. We are recruiting software engineers and QA but if you think you fall somewhere in between or across any role in a software development cycle, send us a note anyway. Let's have a chat.

With love from:
Ching Yee, Karyn and all of us at Senedi
